Score: Mechanical Asychronicity

Exploring the hidden sounds encoded in Nottingham's Lace Archive

Score: Mechanical Asychronicity is a collaborative music and art project, devised in association with artist Danica Maier.

Working closely with Danica, the group have been exploring ways in which approaches to composition can combine with fine art techniques and aesthetics. In the first stage of the project, realisations of graphic scores and moveable forms inspired by the holdings of the Nottingham Lace Archive are presented in gallery and concert settings.

The next stage of this project is to bring together additional composers and artists to further experiment with an approach, in which the rehearsal and creation of works become much closer activities.
