Cecily Smith Nesbitt

Cello


Cecily Smith Nesbitt is a cellist living and working in Northern Ireland. She has a keen interest in contemporary music and ideas-sharing within the arts, and enjoys improvising and pairing her voice with the cello.

Cecily also takes music into healthcare and SEN settings, and has been working in this field since 2009, firstly in Manchester at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital for LIME Music for Health, and has recently completed ’Sounds Together’ as Lead Musician, a music sharing project at Belfast Children’s Hospital in collaboration with Belfast Trust Arts in Health. She has also trained with Musique et Santé in Paris. She now works as a musician specialising in SEN settings for RiCh Music.

She studied with Emma Ferrand, Douglas Cummings, Susan Sheppard, Peter Adams and Naomi Turner and graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music in 2010 with a 1st class honours degree. She is currently studying for a Masters degree in Psychology.
