From Score to Sound: engaging audiences with new music came about via the Arts and Humanities Research Council 10th Anniversary Cultural Engagement Fund. Their funding supported a three-month project that introduced audiences to contemporary classical music from the UK through a series of discovery day events. This fascinating music can be daunting to those unfamiliar with it: the project aims to act as a way in, showing its diversity and accessibility.
Conducted by Dr Tim Howell and Dr Martin Scheuregger at the University of York, the project involved curating a selection of works that would be explored by Martin and performed by Dark Inventions. This CD represents the a record of this music and complements the online record of the project.
