Dark Inventions collaborating with UYMP in new mentoring scheme

Dark Inventions are delighted to be working with the University of York Music Press (UYMP) on their Arts Council England funded project mentoring young composers.

Partnering with two leading young ensembles that champion contemporary classical music – Dark Inventions and vocal ensemble, Juice – UYMP will publish two volumes of new music compositions written for them by the composers.

Dark Inventions’s volume will feature the music for their 2014 Firewheel Tour – supported by Sound and Music and the Britten-Pears Foundation. The tour featured a new commission from leading British composer Philip Cashian, alongside new works by Stef Conner, Patrick John Jones, Benjamin Gait, and Dark Inventions’s Artistic Directors, Martin Scheuregger and Christopher Leedham.

As part of the project, Dark Inventions will be in the studio recording the Firewheel Tour music in February 2015 for release in the Spring.
